NDIS supportPsychosocial recovery coaching
A recovery coach works alongside you to build a life that feels like yours again: planning goals, connecting with services, and building confidence to manage the ups and downs of daily life.

Who recovery coaching is for
Recovery coaching is for NDIS participants with a psychosocial disability, where it is funded in the Capacity Building part of the plan. People we support may live with conditions such as:
- Psychosocial disability
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Borderline personality disorder
- PTSD
- Severe anxiety disorders
- OCD
- Eating disorders
What support can look like
Recovery coaching is about you leading your own recovery. Your coach brings social work and advocacy experience and knowledge of the NDIS, and works at your pace.

Recovery coaching and support coordination
Recovery coaching includes help to coordinate your supports, so many people have a recovery coach instead of a support coordinator. Your coach also focuses on your recovery, mental health and building your own capacity.
If we are your recovery coach, you are free to choose any provider for your other supports, including providers other than us. We will always show you options and record your choice.

Good to know
The NDIS recommends recovery coaches hold a Certificate IV in Mental Health or Mental Health Peer Work, or have two years of relevant experience. Our coaches bring social work and advocacy experience. Ask us about your coach’s background before you start and we will tell you. iCare4U is a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants. Treatment and clinical care are provided by the health system, not the NDIS.
iCare4U provides practical in-home and community support. We do not diagnose conditions or provide medical treatment. The supports we can offer depend on your goals, your plan and funding, your service agreement and worker availability, and we’ll be honest with you about whether we’re the right fit.
